Fine condition condition hardback book and dustjacket. Clean, bright and tight. A lovely copy.
Hugh Godefroy was a Canadian Spitfire ace who became CO of 403 Squadron and then succeeded Johnnie Johnson as the Commander of the Kenley Wing in 1943. After a staff tour he resumed flying on ground attack Typhoons and after the war studied medicine, practicing in both Canada and the USA. He passed away in 2002.
A great account of life in the Canadian Wing both in the air and on the ground with some interesting annecdotes about Johnnie Johnson and his leadership style and encounters with the maverick ‘Screwball’ Beurling.
An interesting and unusual signed fighter ace memoir.
