A Memoir of Wing Commander Brendan Finucane DSO DFC
Signed by James Reynolds
Signed by James Reynolds, 1943
Published by Edmond Byrne Hackett, New York 1942. First and only edition
Very Good condition hardback book in green boards with embossed shamrock and a Very Good condition dustjacket. The dustjacket has a tiny amount of edgewear to the corners but looks smart in a protective cover.
This slim volume published shortly after Paddy’s death in July 1942 is a rare find on this side of the Atlantic. It lyrically describes Paddy’s brief but meteoric life through a series of personal anecdotes without all the dry facts and detail which can be found in other books.
James Reynolds (1891 – 1957) was an Irish-American writer of non-fiction and short fiction stories. He was also a talented painter and expert horseman.
A rare signed book for a Battle of Britain collection and a heartfelt tribute to an Irish hero.
