    A history of post-war RAF operations in the Mediterranean, covering in particular the campaigns in Palestine, the Suez Crisis, the withdrawal from Malta and the war in Cyprus.

    Air Chief Marshal Sir David Lee had a long and distinguished RAF career, initially flying on the NW Frontier of India and then flying Hampdens in Bomber Command during the early days of WWII.  He commanded a fighter wing in the Far East and then held a number of high profile commands in the Middle East and NATO post-war.

    Frank Wootton was one of Britain’s most notable aviation artists and contributed this image of Buccaneers of 12 Squadron over the Rock of Gibraltar.
