Welcome to Spitfire Books

Spitfire Books offers a superb selection of books and flying memorabilia signed by some of the most distinguished pilots in aviation history.

The autograph of a famous aviator can add enormous value and interest to a book, making it unique, collectable and historically important. Here you will find books written and signed by aviation heroes such as Douglas Bader, ‘Johnnie’ Johnson, Frank Whittle, Chuck Yeager, Roland Beamont, and Brian Trubshaw. Fighter pilots, bomber pilots, aces, and test pilots from WW1 to the present day. It is very special to own a book, knowing that the author or subject once held the very same copy as he signed it for a friend, a relative or perhaps just for a stranger at a bookshop or airshow.

ORIGINAL PENCIL DRAWINGS

Original pencil drawings by the very talented NZ based artist Ron Fulstow are available from Spitfire Books.  These drawings featuring Spitfires, Hurricanes, Typhoons and Lancasters are signed by some of the best known NZ pilots from WWII such as Colin Gray, Bob Spurdle, John Checketts, Pat Jameson, Desmond Scott and Les Munro.  Please contact us for further details.

Well known aviation artist Robin Smith GAvA has provided some of his outstanding artwork to illustrate this website. Together, we are offering a unique ‘Remarqued Book’ facility, which turns a signed book into a unique work of art:   Remarqued Books

If you appreciate aviation art, then join us to see how a magnificent aviation painting is created in our television programme, The Art of Aviation, available on video and DVD.

If you would like to purchase a book or other item, then please read the 'How to Purchase' page posted on the Operations Board. As we normally only have one copy of each item, please contact us to confirm availability, to order and to agree postage costs and payment methods.

We will always be pleased to hear from you if you would like to contact us to discuss book collecting, signatures or other related matters.
