Jimmy Sheddan was one of the many New Zealanders who came to England to fly and fight during WWII. After a rather shaky start, Jim rose from Sergeant Pilot to Squadron Leader commanding 486 (NZ) Squadron flying the mighty Typhoon and awesome Tempest. Johnnie Johnson was the Wing Commander and he contributed the foreword to this book.
Jim’s story of flying the Tempest in the advance across Northern Europe, of surviving crashing, ditching and off-duty escapades is well worth a read.
