Fine condition hardback book with orange covers in a Fine condition clipped dustjacket. The book is clean, tight and fresh. A lovely copy.
Dizzy Allen was a 20 year old Spitfire pilot with 66 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. He was the co-author of the famous wartime book ‘Ten Fighter Boys’ and in this autobiography he vividly recalls what life was like on a fighter squadron (he commanded five!) and writes in a very jocular style describing both the airborne action and the humorous incidents in between. A very entertaining read.
One of the more humorously written Battle of Britain memoirs and this is a particularly good example of a scarce book enhanced by a neat Dizzy Allen signed label.
