Signed on the half title page by

MRAF Sir Arthur Harris

Lord Balfour of Inchyre
WW1 Fighter Pilot and Politician in WW2

Published by Arms & Armour Press. First Edition 1976.  Square size 9 x 9 inches. 313 pages and crammed full of diagrams and pictures reproduced from the technical manuals. Over 360 illustrations including 286 detailed line drawings.

A Fine condition hardback book in green covers. The unclipped dustjacket is in Very Good condition with only a little fading to the spine and a small hole on the edge of the rear panel (5 x 5mm) preventing it from being Fine also.

This is the most detailed technical study ever published on RFC and RNAS aircraft and is therefore an essential reference source.  It presents the original maintenance data and precise rigging details which were published for for use by groundcrews in a superb book.  The original notes were loose-leaf which has meant that very few copies have survived. This book covers 26 different aircraft including famous types such as the Sopwith Camel, FE2b and Bristol Fighter (see picture of contents at top of page).

This book is the standard reference for modellers and enthusiasts and is an absolute treasure trove of information on these early aircraft.  In addition, the signatures of ‘Bomber’ Harris and Lord Balfour make it a particularly collectable volume.
