‘Cloud Cover: Recollections of an Intelligence Officer’ is an interesting perspective on World War II aviation. The book highlights the intensely human stories and personalities of the airmen who flew wartime missions.  The stories are told from the perspective of an RAF Intelligence Officer, the precise figure to whom combat pilots returned and reported their aerial battles. This dynamic creates a striking psychological portrait of the pilots, capturing their raw emotions, vulnerabilities, and acts of bravery immediately following the high-stakes adrenaline of combat. It delivers a sensitive, ground-level study of camaraderie, trauma, and resilience.
