Founded in 1942 during WWII’s South Pacific campaign, the International Order of Characters (IOC) is a unique aviation-oriented educational foundation. Created by USAAF flight surgeon Captain James E. Crane, the IOC began as a fraternal group for battle-weary Allied pilots, each given a secret nickname known only within the Order. Today, the IOC supports aviation and aerospace advancement through scholarships and outreach, honouring its roots while inspiring future generations. With a legacy steeped in camaraderie, resilience, and flight, the IOC remains a quietly influential force in aviation history.
A unique booklet with an excellent set of signatures.
