ATA Ferry Pilots Notes

These are fascinating documents. The first is a genuine set of wartime notes, the second a facsimile, of the convenient aide-memoir, which enabled RAF & ATA pilots to jump into an unfamiliar aircraft and remind them of the essential facts and figures.

The notes contain advice on handling various types of British and American engines, accident procedures, Vital Action drills, various tables and then handling notes for over 80 aircraft types including all the famous ones and some of the lesser known (Reliant??).  Surviving copies of these notes are very scarce so the facsimile edition is very useful. With this package you can have both.

RAF Transport Command Ferry Pilots Notes
Genuine wartime publication, undated but circa 1944/5. An extremely scarce document.
Very Good condition with hard blue covers with yellow titles, slightly worn and stained, held together with tags. A couple of cards are loose.  Many of the cards are the same as the ATA book, but there are some differences.

Air Transport Auxiliary Ferry Pilots Notes
Facsimile Edition of the 1941 publication, produced by Yorkshire Air Museum in 1996. Bound with large metal rings. Book is in very fine condition with virtually no signs of wear and/or age. It comes with a certificate signed by Lettice Curtis (printed signature).

A great pair of documents to complement other important ATA sources of information such as ‘Brief Glory’ and ‘The Forgotten Pilots’ which are both available from Spitfire Books ~ please enquire.
